Established in 1978 as an importer and sole distributor of Casio and Pioneer products, Monaco has grown to be the leading sales and marketing distribution company in
New Zealand.

While Casio and Pioneer remain an important part of Monaco’s consumer electronics business, the company is also strongly represented within the kitchen appliance and housewares segment.

Company owned brands such as Omega, Everdure, Robinhood, Everdure by Heston Blumenthal and Omega Altise provide innovative seasonal, kitchen and laundry products to consumers with a strong focus on design and functionality.

Monaco distributes to a large and diverse customer base which includes most of the country’s leading appliance retailers, independent housewares stores, department and jewellery chains as well as DIY. Monaco’s infrastructure and continued investment is systems and operational procedure ensures we create value to our stakeholders.

At the heart of Monaco’s success are a committed team of people with extensive experience in their fields that ensure our brands values and strategies are consistently achieved. History

Shriro has a trading history spanning more than 32 years and has a long association with the Casio brand, having distributed Casio’s products in Australia since 1982. Since 2001, Shriro has implemented a growth strategy focused on selective brand acquisitions and new product development and innovation, starting with the acquisition of Everdure in that year. In 2010, Shriro acquired Monaco Corporation which expanded the Group into New Zealand.

In 2011, Shriro acquired Hagemeyer Brands, the distributor and marketer of home appliance and lifestyle brands such as Omega, Blanco and Omega Altise. In 2013 the Group acquired Robinhood.

  • Abigail Cheadle was appointed to the Board of Shriro Holdings Limited in June 2020.
  • Abigail is a chartered accountant with nearly 30 years’ experience working in Australia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, India, Malaysia, Jordan and Russia.
  • Before embarking on a non-executive career Abigail was CEO of a technology platform and grew practices for KROLL, KordaMenta, Deloitte and Ernst & Young working principally in the areas of company restructuring, forensic accounting, data analytics, risk management consulting, and professional services management.
  • Abigail currently sits on the board and chairs the ARCC or ARC of ASX-listed Qantm Intellectual Property Limited and Isentia Group Limited.She previously sat on the board of global retailer, SurfStitch Group Limited which was privatized.

Tim Hargreaves

Chief Executive Officer

  • Mr Hargreaves was appointed CEO of Shriro Australia and Monaco Corporation 1 January 2018.
  • Mr Hargreaves was appointed General Manager of Casio Division in June 2001 and Divisional Manager of CASIO Office products for 8 years from 1990 – 1998, before leaving to join Canon Australasia as head of retail operations.
  • Mr Hargreaves rejoined Shriro as General Manager overseeing all CASIO divisions (Office Products, Timepiece, Electronic Musical Instruments, Data Projectors, Electronic Cash Registers and Digital Cameras).
  • With the acquisition of Robinhood brands in September 2013, Mr Hargreaves was appointed General Manager of Robinhood, whilst retaining management of the CASIO division.

John Murphy

  • John Murphy was appointed to the Board of Shiriro Holdings Limited in May 2022.
  • John is also currently the non-executive Chair of Alloggio Limited and a non-executive Director of Ariadne. John was a partner at Arthur Andersen, and the founder and managing director of private equity funds including Investec Wentworth Private Equity Limited and Adexum Capital limited. John was previously a director on the following ASX boards: Southcorp Limited, Specialty Fashion Group Limited, Vocus Communications Limited, Gale Pacific Limited, Redflex Limited, Australian Pharmaceutical Industries Limited, and Vita Group Limited.

Brian Bunker

  • Brian Bunker was appointed to the Board of Shriro Holdings Limited in April 2022.
  • Brian is currently Managing Director of Riverside, Asia and joined in 2008. He established the Asia Strategy Group in Hong Kong which helps portfolio companies penetrate Asian markets. He also sits on a number of portfolio company boards. Prior to joining Riverside, Brian spent five years at Danaher serving in various senior executive positions providing strategic direction and business development of 22 companies, 7,300 associates and 17 plants throughout China as well as managing companies in Australia and Singapore. Brian also held senior executive positions at a number of leading Multinational corporations including Fortune Brands, Diageo and Matra- Hachette. Prior to his business career Brian was a professional officer in the British Army serving in the Brigade of Gurkhas.
  • Brian earned a BA (Hons) in Modern Languages, from King’s College, University of London and speaks Chinese, French, Italian, Nepali and Spanish. He was commissioned from the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst and is a U.K. Chartered Director
